The change in culture may have come from a homogenizing of previously unmixed European, African and Hispanic cultures who viewed nudity differently in a newer generation. The change may be a product of TV showing wholesome scenarios where nudity was not allowed. The Hayes code led to the rating system.. Being scantily clad on TV did not come unyil the 70s. Interestingly, one episode of the one-season Paul Lynde Show features a scene where the main character's son-in-law is unashamedly naked behind the living room bar. All in the Family famously featured full frontal nudity during a diaper-changing scene with Archie's grandson. Nudity for men was simply considered normal and acceptable.
